We’ve all been hearing about artificial intelligence a lot.  Many HR vendors now claim to include AI in their platforms (and we see it not just in HR but everywhere, healthcare, research, etc.)  Over time, in business as well as in personal lives, AI applications will become ubiquitous in areas we don’t expect.  The presentation goes through the following topics:

    • History/background of AI
    • What exactly is it, how does it work, how does it manifest itself
    • Practical example
    • AI in HR – what areas of HR does it affect (talent acquisition, resume review and recommendation, applicant assessment, performance assessment, assessing flight risk, etc.)
    • Representative sample of vendors in the HR space, what kind of claims are they making?  (possibly demo?)
    • How do you evaluate claims, products?
    • What questions should you ask?

At the end of the presentation, people will have a better understanding of

    a) what AI is in general,

    b) how AI is implemented in the HR world, and

    c) some questions they can ask in the future as more solutions come into the market, to determine if what they’re facing is mostly hype or not.
